Melissa Kelly

The best conversations are not about convincing anyone of anything; they are about understanding what someone truly needs.

A graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, raised by a philosopher father who taught her that the best conversations are not about convincing anyone — they are about understanding what someone truly needs. She built a career in sales, where she learned to listen past the surface request and hear the real longing underneath. For nearly thirty years she has lived in Toledo with her husband, Scott, raising two daughters and navigating all the ordinary miracles and quiet heartbreaks of family life. She has sat with friends through divorce and diagnosis, walked alongside colleagues through doubt and reinvention, and kept noticing the same thing: people carry questions they do not know how to ask. Banyan Council is the project she wishes had existed for every one of them.
